ZANOG originated in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, initially known as KZNNOG, with its first gathering held on 16 November 2017 at the Point Yacht Club in Durban. As the need for a wider platform became evident, the initiative rapidly grew to encompass the entire country, providing a dedicated space for knowledge-sharing, industry collaboration and engagement.
Today, ZANOG hosts a large annual multi-day conference and organizes regular meetings across South Africa. These include at least three technical workshops and six evening networking events each year, offering valuable learning and networking opportunities.
With over 50 successful events to date, ZANOG has become a key community partner in Africa’s network engineering and peering ecosystem. The community-driven initiative welcomes participants from across the world, encouraging global collaboration and innovation in the industry.
